Here's how we spend our month together:
Week 1:
Pattern Prompt
Inspiration Kit
At the start of each month, you receive a beautifully curated inspiration kit: a seasonal mood board, color story, and prompt. Your creative invitation to start noticing, gathering, and making.
Week 2:
Pattern Prep

We meet live and make marks together, playful and unpolished. Dots, squiggles, loose florals, imperfect doodles. No pressure to get it right. Just you and me, filling our sketchbooks side by side.
Week 3:
Pattern Play
build your pattern
Now we turn your artwork into a seamless repeat. I send a short, focused lesson that takes what you made in your sketchbook and turns it into a finished pattern using Adobe Illustrator. Beginner friendly!
Week 4:
Patterned Product
Bring it to life
Step by step, I walk you through uploading your finished design to a print-on-demand platform so you can see it on fabric, wallpaper, or gift wrap. Something you can hold in your hands!
By the end of every month, you'll have something you made, something you're proud of, and something that now exists in the world.

WEEK 1
Pattern Prompt
Your creative direction for the month.
Every month starts with a theme. A full, rich, beautifully curated creative world to step into, with everything you need to get inspired and get going.
Think mood imagery. Color palettes with hex codes. Motif ideas to spark your own. A sense of the season, the feeling, the story you're making something for.
One month it might be Heirloom Cottage, all pressed florals and faded greens and the quiet warmth of a grandmother's kitchen. Another month it might be something bolder, something wilder and entirely unexpected.
You take it wherever your creativity wants to go. The prompt is your starting point, not your destination.

Once a month, we sit down together and we tackle the blank page. You grab your sketchbook, your pencil, whatever you love to draw with. I reference that month's Pattern Prompt and I just... start. Right there, on camera, with no finished plan.
And you draw along with me. Making your own thing as I make mine.
The blank page is so much less scary when you're not staring at it alone.

Build Your Pattern
From a sketch you drew to a pattern ready for a product.
Week 3 is where the magic happens! You take the motif you created in Pattern Play and turn it into a finished, repeating pattern.
Each month's tutorial is short, focused, and built for beginners. This is focused on using Adobe Illustrator as easily as possible. I'll teach you exactly what you need to finish this month's pattern, beautifully.

Every month, I walk you through getting your finished pattern onto a product using print-on-demand companies we've personally researched and handpicked for you.

I'm Bonnie.
I want to tell you something I don't say often enough.
When I started wanting to learn surface pattern design, I let six months go by doing nothing because I was so overwhelmed I didn't know where to start.
Then I got mad at myself. And I decided: one thing a day. That's it. One small step forward, every day. And slowly, slowly, it started to work.
I found myself sitting in a rented duplex with no studio, no art degree, and genuinely no idea if I was good enough to do this. I spent eleven months teaching myself Adobe Illustrator from tutorials, alone, before I made a single thing I was proud of.
I built Pattern Play because I want you to have something I didn't have in that season. A warm place to begin. Sessions each month so you don't feel alone. And a finish line at the end of every single month so you always know you made something.
