To help us achieve our mission, Team Bonnie Christine is seeking a talented Content Writer to join our team and support our mission of helping creatives flourish. As a Content Writer at Bonnie Christine, you will play a pivotal role in creating and refining engaging content across multiple platforms, including blog posts, email newsletters, course materials, workbooks, keynotes, podcasts, webinars, and external publications. You’ll collaborate closely with our leadership team and Bonnie to ensure that all content aligns with our vision and serves the needs of our thriving community of creatives.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, a keen editorial eye, and the ability to write projects from concept to completion. We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to stay ahead of content trends, always exploring new tools and techniques to enhance our offerings.
You'll be joining a team that's making a real impact in the online art and education industry, and you'll play a vital role in our continued growth. If you are passionate about crafting content that educates, inspires, and drives results, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities include:
- Content Development: Write and revise compelling copy for a variety of formats and platforms, including our websites, courses, podcasts, blog, emails and workbooks. This includes updating and refreshing archival material to maintain relevance and optimize for SEO, as well as repurposing existing content to across multiple platforms. Tailor the voice and style of content to suit different audiences and objectives.
- Collaborative Projects: Work alongside the team, marketing department, designers, video producers, and others to produce multimedia content. Contribute to the creative process and ensure cohesive messaging across all materials.
- Research and Innovation: Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and content creation tools, including developments in AI. Experiment with new forms of content and technology to enhance the impact of our messages.
- Content Strategy Support: Assist the Marketing Director in developing content strategies that effectively convey our brand’s messages and achieve marketing objectives. Participate in brainstorming sessions and offer creative solutions.
- Quality Control: Ensure all content whether text or visual is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience across all channels of content.
Proficiencies and qualifications required:
- Content creation: Proven experience as a content creator, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong writing and multimedia content production skills. Strong creative skills with the ability to produce original ideas and concepts. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a persnickety eye for detail.
- SEO: Demonstrated knowledge of SEO best practices to enhance content visibility and audience engagement across digital platforms.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in the G-Suite, ChatGPT, Asana, Slack and Keynote. Bonus if you also know Adobe Creative Suite and video editing.
- Self-starter, self-manager: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Takes initiative, anticipates needs, and gets stuff done consistently on time.
- Positive attitude: Has a can-do spirit, is fun to be around, high-energy, and does not complain, make excuses, or gossip.
- Grace and poise under pressure: In a high-growth business, things are always changing, and there are times when things get intense. We pride ourselves on being able to function at a high level even when things get busy by working together as a team and communicating effectively.
- Committed to excellence: We want to exceed expectations in everything we do and reflect positively on the brand.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Humanities, communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.

- Charitable Donation–Every year, each team member gets to share a charity of their choice. We then all vote (anonymously) and make a donation in the team member’s name to the one that won!
- Equipment Budget–Since the exact tools you’ll need to do your job vary, we give you control to choose them for yourself. Core team members receive an equipment budget of $2,000 upon joining the team and then $1,000 every two years after that.
- Annual Internet Stipend–All core team members receive $360 annually to offset monthly internet expenses.Â
- Learning & Development Budget–Every core team member gets an annual budget of $2,500 towards tools and resources that develop your skills and foster your work-related learning.Â
- Flexible Hours–You have the freedom to set your own schedule with the expectation that you communicate that to others. If you will be out for 5 or more hours of your normal schedule in a day, we ask that you let the team know in advance.
- Health & Wellness–At BC, we know the importance of health and wellness. Team members get a monthly budget of $100 (USD) towards a gym or wellness program that directly benefits your health.Â
- House Cleaning–We know that working in a virtual setting can make it hard to separate home life from work life. At Bonnie Christine we know a clean space means a clean mind. We value your time and your space and most of all, know that you can't (and shouldn't) have to do it all. BC provides every core team member with a monthly budget of $100 (USD) towards professional house cleaning.Â
- Summer Hours–We prioritize family before all else. For this reason, the summer is the slowest time for BC. From June 1st - August 31st the company will implement a four day work week and only work Monday - Thursday.
- Quarterly Goals Incentive–Earn up to 20% of your salary (FT) or average wages (PT) for the previous year based on quarterly goals and reviews. To be eligible for the Goals Bonus Benefits, a core team member must have worked at BC for a consecutive 12 months.
- Access to products–We want our team members to experience the same transformation from our courses and other products our customers do. So, as a team member, you’ll enjoy complimentary access to products. We also give each team member the ability to grant access to one of our products to one person outside of our current customers and organization each year.Â
An Overview of Bonnie Christine’s Business:
Bonnie is a licensing artist who educates on the business of surface pattern design through several online programs. Students and members learn how to nurture their creativity, sketch and illustrate, efficiently use Adobe Illustrator, create surface pattern designs, work in collections, design a portfolio, license their artwork and become a thriving creative entrepreneur.
Our education currently includes the following:
Free content - with a mission to serve, educate and inspire the creative community, we offer free content that helps our audience move the needle on their biggest goals. Typically delivered through PDF, video or podcast (coming soon).
Immersion Course - Est. in 2018, our beloved signature course is 8 weeks long and offered once a year (February - April). Students learn the entire business of becoming a successful surface pattern designer. It’s incredibly comprehensive and students find great success after taking it.
Flourish Membership - Est. in 2012, our monthly membership currently serves over 3,000 members through weekly content. The membership is built to serve artists and creatives who are towards the beginning of their journey and who are looking for a community of like minded people to grow with.Â
Immersion LIVE Event - Est. in 2019, a live (virtual) 3-day event held in October of each year. This is an intensive and inspiring event where we cover the ins and outs of working as successful surface designers.Â
Evergreen Products - tools for artists and creators including ebooks, calculators, and more.
Mark Makers Mastermind - Est. in 2020, a 12 month program for an intimate group of creative entrepreneurs, capped at 30 people. This is the highest level of learning offered, as Bonnie spends the entire year focused on helping members growing their businesses.
Although we permit “side gigs” / work outside of this role, it must not compete or overlap with the work we do, or interfere with your role and responsibilities within the team. Any business, coaching or side gigs related to surface pattern design are not permitted. This allows us to unite as one business, and have the greatest possible impact.
